Celebrating Shabbat-in-the-Home on December 29th!

Continuing our tradition, our Temple Etz Rimon community is celebrating Shabbat together in our homes on Friday, December 29th. We appreciate the generosity of our membership who are able to open their home for this special Shabbat and dinner. Hosts will provide a main entree, challah, wine/juice and candles. Guests are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert. If you’d like to host or join a family as a guest, please call the temple as soon as possible as space is limited.

Save the Date: 28th Annual Jewish Film Festival!

Save the date for the 28th Annual Jewish Film Festival from February 8 through February 17, 2018. Award winning films from animations to documentaries will be shown throughout San Diego and North County. North County Opening Night is Saturday, February 11 at the Carlsbad Village Theatre. Edwards Theatre in San Marcos will once again participate in viewings.

In addition, the festival is hosting a number of events in the North County. “Reel Talks” will make a debut at the California Coffee House & Eatery in San Marcos and Caldo Pomodoro in Carlsbad. “Reel Talks” provides an opportunity to meet up to socialize with fellow movie goers and enjoy casual conversations about the films. “Reel Talks” will be facilitated by a guest from the film festival. Finally, don’t miss the Annual Block Party on Saturday, February 18 at 6PM. Massachusetts Mike’s Pizzeria (across from Edwards San Marcos Stadium 18) is the place to gather after the film, enjoy each other’s company, and enjoy delicious pizza!

The Annual Film Festival is another opportunity for our membership, friends and family to enjoy an evening together. It’s a perfect event to share with our Havurot!
