Worship

“Happy are those who dwell in Your house;
they praise You forever!”

Psalm 84:5

worship_picIt is a pleasure to welcome you to Temple Etz Rimon. We are proud of our reputation for being a warm and welcoming community. Our services offer intimate, meaningful and informed worship and holiday celebrations that use a mixture of Hebrew and English and blend aspects of both traditional and modern Reform prayers.

Shabbat Services
At Temple Etz Rimon we offer weekly Shabbat services three Friday evenings each month beginning at 7 pm.  Shabbat services on Saturday morning at 10 am are offered once a month. We are a community that values worship and the meaning that prayer brings to our lives.

Friday evening services celebrate Shabbat, and may include baby namings, anniversary and birthday celebrations, and other life-cycle observances.  Shabbat Services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings conclude as we gather together as a community to say Kiddush, make motzi with light refreshments and enjoy the company of each other. Our Shabbat evening Oneg or our Shabbat morning Kiddush are sponsored by a member as a way to mark special moments such as a bar/bat mitzvah or birthday, a Yahrzeit, or as a way to simply say a special thank you to someone.

High Holiday Services
Our annual service schedule provides specific information. We offer reservations to the community as space permits. For more information Contact Us or call the temple at 760.929.9503

Other Holiday Services
Temple Etz Rimon marks other holidays by special celebrations.  Before services on S’leichot we celebrate with an ice cream social and a Jewish-themed movie. For Tashlich we gather at Tamarack Beach for the symbolic casting away of sins.  During Sukkot, congregants are invited to build and then share dinner in the Sukkah for our annual “Pizza in the Hut.” At Tu B’shevat we celebrate with a Seder that reminds us of our responsibilities to conservation and ecology. At Hanukkah, we enjoy a temple-wide “Latke Palooza” and then watch as each family brings a menorah to the temple and lights candles together, brightening this dark time of year.  We celebrate Purim with a talent show and Pesach with a communal Seder. Information regarding holiday celebrations can be found in our e-newsletter, The Teruah or clicking on Contact Us.

Life Cycle Celebrations
Families are encouraged to mark their personal milestones with the congregation. We celebrate baby namings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, special anniversaries, birthdays and retirements.

Sacred space is shared with Pilgrim Church located at 2020 Chestnut Ave., Carlsbad.  Click here for Directions to Pilgrim Church.
