Becoming a Member

Temple Etz Rimon welcomes all people – members, visitors, guests — who wish to attend services and many aspects of congregational life.  However, becoming a temple member is an important step for many individuals and is important to the life of our congregation. We value our members and as a URJ-designated small congregation, members are crucial to sustaining the operations of the congregation.  

If you believe that you have found your spiritual home with us, we encourage you to officially join our congregation.

Are Membership Fees or Dues Required?

Temple Etz Rimon does rely strongly on its members to support the basic operations of the temple, and we do ask for an annual financial pledge.  Instead of referring to this pledge as “dues” we call it an “annual commitment” to underscore the idea that temple membership is a relationship.

 We offer multiple membership opportunities, from a suggested sustaining membership amount to amounts based on family size and age; additionally, we  offer options to pay membership commitments over time.  Temple Etz Rimon has always opened its doors to anyone who wishes to be a member of our congregational family, regardless of ability to pay, and prospective members who have financial concerns should please contact the temple president to privately discuss their options.  

Annual Commitments:

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Sustaining Membership Commitment: Family or Single Member (of any age):  $1800

Individual (Single) Membership Commitment:

  • Adult (ages 18-30): $240
  • Adult (age 31- 69): $640
  • Senior (age 70+): $550

Family Membership Commitment (based upon the age of the older spouse or partner, if applicable):

  • Young Couple (ages 18-30, with or without dependents):  $420
  • Single (ages 31-69) with dependents:  $900
  • Adult Couple (ages 31-69, with or without dependents):  $1,275
  • Senior Couple (age 70+):  $1,100

Associate Membership Commitment (for seasonal visitors, out-of-town members, or those who belong to other congregations – any age):

  • Single $180.00
  • Couple/Family $360.00          

How Do I Join?

If you are ready to become a member of our Temple Etz Rimon family, please complete the membership form (above) and mail it to Temple Etz Rimon.  Or, if you would like more specific information about becoming a member of Temple Etz Rimon please contact us, and we will be in touch right away.

Payment Options:

Please mail your check, made out to Temple Etz Rimon.  In case of financial hardship, please contact us to discuss payment plans or other options.  Any active-duty military members and students with current and valid student IDs may join at no charge.
