Temple Leadership

Cantor Mark Britowich, spiritual leader of Temple Etz Rimon, has sung sacred music, worked with b’nai mitzvah students, led congregations and conducted Shabbat and holiday services for more than three decades.  He holds an undergraduate degree in theater, and later, during a successful career in the finance industry, realized his true calling, and began studying to become a cantor and lead congregations through music and prayer.  His teachers of blessed memory were some of the cantorial giants of their time; he is blessed to have been imbued with their wisdom and knowledge. 

After serving as cantor at Valley Beth Israel congregation (Sun Valley, CA), he worked as a full-time cantor and b’nai mitzvah program director at Temple Judea (Tarzana, CA) for 15 years.  He conducts services at the Seacrest retirement community in Encinitas, and he also currently serves as the Director of Operations for Mitzvah Tools, a cloud-based Bar and Bat Mitzvah education platform which allows students, parents, educators and synagogue staff to collaborate and track student progress.
